Why did he friggin bother saying this!? lol?

does he want me to add him or was he just being social/friendly and talkative? lol anyways, my extra curricular art class had around 6 people (yesterday was the last class) and after almost everyone left there was only me, the guy and our art teacher. So basically the art teacher gave the guy student his email so that the guy could email him when he dropped his painting off (the teacher was to frame it) and then the guy said my email is __________ and he said it used to be _________ but that was too long- I was about to state mine but the teacher started talking -.- and then we went off the topic and we ended up leaving. The guy is very friendly/social so was he putting it out there for me or am I overanalyzing it and it has nothing to do with me? why did he even have to state his email if it was simply his name basically (the teacher would have known i was him) thanks in advance
